Clear ticks with the button when you start a new save or after the Patch 1 refund made you redo upgrades but not shelves — in that case, do not clear, because the shop is still sorted.

How to use ticks without lying to yourself

Tick a family only after the in-game counter for that aisle agrees, not after you think you finished. Extra Tower colors in your hand are a clue that Yellow or Green is still hungry even if the shelf looks full. Untick that row, walk the extras back, and only then celebrate.

Do not tick high shelves as a family. Height is a movement problem, tracked on high shelves, not a costume. Do not tick achievements here either — Steam’s overlay is the source of truth for the 20 badges, and delayed pops belong on known issues. This widget is for neighborhoods you can walk to, name, and empty.

A session rhythm that matches the shop

Play twenty minutes, tick what you actually finished, then pick the next unfinished neighborhood from the list instead of wandering spawn. That is the whole value of a checklist in a single room: it fights the “I already did pirates” feeling when three pirate hats are still on a beam.

If you restart a save, clear the ticks. If Patch 1 refunded upgrades but left the shop sorted, do not clear. If you share a computer, know that the next browser profile will look empty even when Steam Cloud still has your ducks. The Tools Hub explains that split on purpose.
